Powerful Homeschool Podcasts That Are Worth Listening To
Think of listening to podcasts as professional development. Homeschool parents should be growing in our homeschooling skills, right? Podcasts are such a simple (and free!) way to glean so much wisdom from fellow homeschoolers.
You’ll find homeschool-focused podcasts all over the map. From Charlotte Mason lovers, to unschoolers, to the ultra-organized, to the self-proclaimed crazy. It’s all there just waiting to fill your proverbial cup with wisdom, knowledge,
refreshment, and some laughs of course.
Here are a few homeschool podcasts for you to subscribe to right
away!
It’s not a complete list because, wow, the resources are seemingly endless! But I wanted to share a few that are favorites of mine, or have been recommended to me and are now queued up on my podcast app. They’re podcasts that all homeschoolers can enjoy no matter what style of homeschooling you lean toward.
The Busy Mom – Heidi St. John’s podcast was literally my very first one I ever
listened to. She began her podcast specifically for the homeschooling mom, but has since branched out
so every mom can learn and be encouraged. She talks about just about everything from
homeschooling to politics. She is passionate about knowing and teaching the Word of
God.
The Read Aloud Revival – I’m a little bit addicted to this one as I’m also
passionate about raising readers. Sarah Mackenzie knows and loves books, and has so
much wisdom to share on cultivating a reading family. She regularly has authors as
guests and always has long lists of book recommendations.
The Homeschool Sanity Show – Dr. Melanie Wilson is not only a Christian
psychologist, but also a veteran homeschooling mother of 6! She knows her stuff. She
shares her own tips and those of other homeschoolers, and also gives a weekly
organized homeschool challenge.
Cultivating Grace – If you’ve homeschooled for any amount of time, you know that
grace is essential to success. Lara Molettiere wants to help you cultivate that
grace through homeschool and motherhood. Various experts and fellow moms join Lara
and discuss all the homeschooling and mothering questions and ideas.
The Crazy Real Real Crazy Podcast – Sometimes it’s just nice to know I’m not the
only one that feels a little crazy on this homeschool journey. Amy Dingmann will
provide both the laughs and the real that we homeschooling moms need, along with
tips and encouragement to keep on keeping on.
The Homeschool Snapshots Podcast – Pam Barnhill gives you an opportunity to get a
peak into the life of another homeschooling family. You’ll be encouraged by finding
connection with fellow homeschoolers from around the country. And, of course, you’ll
be equipped with all sorts of tips for thriving as a homeschooler.
You could easily find hundreds more podcasts with a homeschooling focus, and these few I’ve listed will likely introduce you to many more. There’s even podcasts for your kids to listen to like Your Story Hour and The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd. I’m looking forward to sharing them with my kids! Happy listening!
Great list, I’ll have to check some of these out.
Thank you Brandy! They are all worth a listen 😉
I’m not much for podcasts cause I can’t seem to figure them out. Like how does one even listen to them? Do you have to pay for them? How does that whole system work?
Hi Annette!
The cool thing about podcasts is that they are totally free to listen! That is just one of the many reasons why they are becoming so mainstream. Who doesn’t love free resources, right? lol
You can listen to them on various platforms but iTunes is extremely popular. You can listen from your smart phone, laptop, or tablet. I hope this information is helpful to you. Let us know when you try one out! Courtney
