New Tradition With My First Day At School Diary
The first day of school is quickly approaching, and all those memories can soon be forgotten, but we have just the thing to document all those sweet moments. Below is a quick checklist for homeschoolers and back to schoolers too, so we don’t forget a thing!
First Day of School or Homeschool Memories Check List
- Don’t Forget to Take Photos of all the First Day Outfit Choices or Cute PJs for Homeschoolers
If your kids are like mine, then they have gone through an entire process of choosing their first day of school, which includes several reject outfits. Grab a couple of snapshots of your homeschoolers in their cute PJs too!
- Preparing the School Supplies
Even as a child, my favorite thing about back to school was the school supplies. I would organize and reorganize how all my school supplies would go in my backpack for the first day of school. Make sure to grab some photos of your kids getting their school supplies ready. Homeschoolers may be organizing their new pencil boxes with excitement, and this is still worth a quick snapshot.
- First Day Outfit with their First Day of School Sign
It’s tradition, and you have to take a back to school picture with the back to school sign. But it is also easy to forget in the hustle and bustle of trying to get out of the door on the first day of school. Put a bright sticky note by the door to remind you to grab the photo or before you begin your homeschool day.
- Photo with the New Teacher
If your school allows it, grab a quick photo with your child and their new teacher during drop off when everyone is still looking fresh and happy. You can also get this photo during “Meet the Teacher Night” at your school. We especially love this idea for homeschoolers, get in that picture with your students mommas!
These are great for your photo albums, but you want to exercise caution with sharing this on social media. You want to make sure that it isn’t being shared or available to people you don’t know personally.
On top of taking all the cute photos, we also have a First Day of School Diary that you can use to get down all the memories to look back on for years to come. The printable includes grades from pre-k through their senior year, so filling it out can become a yearly tradition.
